Columbus Day Parade set to march through Manhattan

On Monday, the 78th annual Columbus Day Parade will march up Fifth Avenue

It is the biggest celebration of Italian-American heritage in the country

From 47th to 72nd Street, there will be a march of around 35,000 people.

Tom Golisano, a millionaire businessman and philanthropist, will serve as this year's grand marshal

Indigenous Peoples Day, observed on Monday, honours the heritage and culture of Native Americans

It has only been recognised as a national holiday for the past two years
