Yuvraj Singh Update: Former India player Yuvraj Singh was arrested in Haryana’s Hisar district for making casteist remarks. However, after the order of the High Court, he was granted bail. In this case, an advocate named Rajat Kalsan had lodged a complaint at Hansi police station city of Hisar. Yuvraj Singh had made a casteist remark about fellow player Yuzvendra Chahal during Instagram Live last year, on which there was a lot of ruckus in the whole country.
apologized on social media
When this matter came to light last year, there was an uproar across the country. After this, Yuvraj Singh expressed his regret through a post on social media. He also said that his words were misinterpreted. The matter was then trending on social media for several days. Yuvraj Singh has played 304 ODIs, 58 T20 Internationals and 40 Test matches for Team India. He also played an important role in helping Team India win the ODI World Cup in 2011. In the year 2019, he announced his retirement from cricket.
The complainant accused of getting VIP treatment
Complainant Rajat Kalsan said that Yuvraj Singh was given VIP treatment by Haryana Police and selfies were posed with him. Unlike what should normally be the case with an accused, Yuvraj was given juice and snacks at the Gazetteed Officer’s Mess. This thing was deliberately kept away from the media. Kalsan has said to challenge the order of Punjab Haryana High Court granting interim bail to Yuvraj Singh in the Supreme Court.
According to the complainant Advocate Rajat Kalsan, now the Hansi Police will present the challan against Yuvraj Singh in the court, after which Yuvraj Singh will also have to get regular bail from the special court. Yuvraj Singh will have to appear on every date in a special court established under the Scheduled Castes and Tribes Atrocities Act in Hisar and if proven guilty, can be sentenced to 5 years imprisonment.
