Gautam Gambhir on Hardik Pandya: The bugle of the ICC T20 World Cup has sounded. The Indian team is also fully prepared for this. Team India will face Pakistan on 24 October in the World Cup. However, before this the team will play two practice matches. The Indian team will play a practice match against Australia on Monday. It is expected that this match will assess the preparations of the team. All the veterans of the cricket world are expressing their opinion about Team India’s playing XI for the World Cup. Meanwhile, former India opener Gautam Gambhir said that star all-rounder Hardik Pandya should be included in the playing XI only if he bowls better in the practice match.
Gautam Gambhir said in a sports channel program, “For me Hardik Pandya will be included in India’s playing XI only if he is able to bowl right in both the practice matches. To bowl in the net session and the best batsmen like Babar Azam. There is a huge difference between the two against and that too in the World Cup.” Gambhir said, “He has to bowl in practice matches and in the nets. He has to bowl 100 percent. If you are thinking that you will come and bowl at 115-120 kmph, then I will not take this risk.”
Hardik was selected as the batting all-rounder in India’s 15-man squad for the T20 World Cup, but as it became clear that he would not be able to bowl during the tournament, the selectors named Axar Patel to the 15-man squad. To strengthen the fast bowling department by leaving the team, Shardul Thakur was included in it.
How was Hardik’s performance in IPL 2021?
During the recently concluded IPL 2021, Hardik Pandya did not bowl for the entire season. Apart from this, scored only 127 runs for Mumbai Indians at a strike rate of 113.39. In fact, Pandya had back surgery in 2019, after which he has not been bowling regularly for India and his IPL team Mumbai Indians. The concern of the team management has increased regarding this.
