The first Test match was played between India and Pakistan in the year 1952 between 16-18 October. This three-day match was played at the Feroz Shah Kotla ground in Delhi. Batting first, India had scored 372 runs in this match. Hemu Adhikari played a brilliant innings of 81 runs for the team. In response, Pakistan’s team was all out on the score of 150 runs in their first innings. Vinoo Mankad took 8 wickets for 52 runs for India. After this, India fed Pakistan the follow-on. On 1 October 1978, the teams of India and Pakistan came face to face in One Day International for the first time. In this match of 40 overs, India batted first and scored 170 runs for the loss of 7 wickets. All-rounder Mohinder Amarnath contributed the most 51 runs for the team. Chasing the target, Pakistan’s team could score only 166 runs for the loss of 8 wickets and in this way India won the match by four runs.

14 September 2007, 1st T20, Result – India won in Super Over

In T20 International, India and Pakistan first met in the 2007 World Cup. This match was played on 14 September on the ground of Durban. Pakistan won the toss and invited India to bat. While bowling brilliantly, Mohammad Asif took 4 wickets for 18 runs and bundled India out for 141 runs for 9 wickets. Robin Uthappa contributed 50 runs, captain MS Dhoni 33 runs and Irfan Pathan contributed 20 runs for India.

Chasing the score, Pakistan’s team needed 12 runs to win in the last over, but despite Misbah-ul-Haq’s two fours, the team could only collect 11 runs in this over and the match was tied.
