Sunrisers had to be restricted to less than 65 runs to qualify for the play-offs. Mumbai and Kolkata Knight Riders shared 14 points but the Rohit Sharma-led side finished fifth due to a poor net run rate (0.116). Knight Riders finished fourth with a better net run rate (0.587).
