Delhi vs Chennai: In the first qualifier of IPL 2021, Chennai Super Kings defeated Delhi Capitals by four wickets in a very close match yesterday. With this, MS Dhoni’s team made it to the final of the IPL for the record ninth time. Delhi’s team dominated for most of the time in this match, but in the end, it did not go ahead with Dhoni’s experience. Delhi captain Rishabh Pant also looked very disappointed after this defeat. However, he expressed the hope that by winning the second eliminator, he will make it to the final.
Rishabh Pant said after the match, “It is very disappointing to lose like this. I have no words to describe how we are feeling at the moment.” On the decision to give Tom Curran the last over, the Delhi captain said, “Tom Curran bowled brilliantly throughout the match till the last over. So I thought it would be better to bowl to him in the deciding over.”
Hope next match win will play final
Rishabh Pant said, “We had put up a good score while playing earlier, but in the beginning of the Chennai innings, our bowling was poor and we gave too many runs. That proved to be the biggest reason for the loss in this match.” At the same time, he said, “We have one more chance to reach the final now. I sincerely hope that we will learn from the loss of this match before the second eliminator and correct our mistakes and make it to the final.”
