IPL News: The Governing Council of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has announced the issue of tender for the ownership and operation of an IPL team. The council has decided to extend the last date for procurement of ‘Invitation to Tender’ (ITT) documents till 20 October 2021. On August 31, the document ‘Invitation to Tender’ available on payment of non-refundable tender fee was issued. BCCI is constantly taking steps to improve this tournament.
According to the Governing Council, interested parties for ITT will have to deposit Rs 10 lakh as non-refundable tender fee and applicable tax (GST). All other conditions mentioned in this invitation document will also apply. Interested parties will get more information to purchase ITT by emailing email@example.com.
The subject line ‘ITT for the Right to Own and Operate One of Two Proposed New IPL Teams’ has to be written in the email sent for ITT. Any party willing to submit the bid is required to purchase ITT. However, those fulfilling the eligibility criteria prescribed in ITT and subject to other terms and conditions laid down therein, shall be eligible to bid. The Governing Council has clarified that mere purchase of this ITT does not entitle a person to bid. BCCI may cancel or modify the bidding process at any stage without assigning any reason thereof.
IPL is the most popular cricket league in the world. BCCI constantly keeps taking steps to improve this tournament. It was announced recently that in the 2022 season, two new teams will be entered in this tournament. In the next few weeks, it will be clear which new teams will debut in the next season of the tournament. This time due to Corona epidemic, the tournament has to be organized in two phases.
